Spaces that I find interesting in the building:
I like the space of the elevator as I think it is an important space in terms of the way that it can be used to travel but only only to a certain reach. It is as if the space gives omits a sense of potential movement and travel but actually presents a very limited path.
I do like this alcove of the window as it changes quite a lot during the course of the day in terms of light. I also like the fact that the space can be seen from outside of the building. This is important as the installation is only allowed to be positioned on the 4th floor of the Dorrit Black building. The window would work to extend the piece out of the space and essentially into the outside realm.
The one thing that I do really like about the lift is the lighting on the ceiling. It feels very industrial and clinical. The cool feeling of the space works with the cool feel of aluminium foil. I think it would be interesting to perhaps create an installation that has a warm feeling. It would create a juxtaposition that would be quite interesting.
I love the versatility of the space. It has a lot of potential in terms of hanging space. I could perhaps explore this space with the installation idea of the hanging hats or umbrellas.

I really think that I will go with this space. I find that this space feels so desolate and forgotten. It is as if the function of the space is to allow for storage but based on the lack of locks on the lockers, it is not even being used for that purpose.
I like the idea of creating an installation that is not overly obvious or overpowering; that the viewer could potentially walk straight past it without even noticing its presence. I like this idea as it reminds me of the general uses of aluminium foil; it is a temporary product, generally used and then discarded almost immediately. It is modest in its abilities and function.
It will be interesting to see how intrusive this simple work can be on the people who move within the space.
